OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Former state Sen. Jeff Rabon of Hugo has been arrested in Oklahoma City for public drunkenness. A police report says the 47-year-old Rabon could barely stand and was holding an empty can of beer when they found him in a hotel lobby late Tuesday. Hotel workers said Rabon had been kicking a panel in an elevator and refusing to stay in his room. Rabon could not be reached for comment.
This is his fourth alcohol-related arrest since 1989 when he was convicted of transporting an open container. Records show he was also convicted in 1990 of driving under the influence. He faces an April trial in Choctaw County on a misdemeanor aggravated drunken driving charge. He's pleaded not guilty in that case.
