The Senate Rules Committee approved more than a dozen measures Wednesday and failed one. Sen. Constance Johnson, D-Oklahoma City, failed win the committee’s approval of SB 1307, which she said would restore former inmates’ right, particularly their right to vote. Johnson noted that the bill would allow convicted felons to vote if they had served their time in prison but were still serving time “on paper” or some form of supervision. The bill failed on a 5 to 10 vote. For the full report go to www.ecapitol.net
