Two bills regarding school districts hiring attorneys and sharing information about inappropriate relationships between former employees and students failed to win the approval Tuesday of the House Common Education Committee. The committee defeated the CS for HB 3048, by Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, which she said was intended to require schools to provide information to a potential employer about a former employee’s “sexual misconduct” with students. Members also failed to pass the CS for HB 2989, by Rep. Mike Ritze, R-Broken Arrow, which proposed the School District Private Attorney Retention Act. For the full report go to www.ecapitol.net
