SB 1050 and its emergency clause passed on a vote of 41 to 4. The bill, by Sen. Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City and Rep. Leslie Osborn, R-Tuttle, removes reference to tribal environmental requirements as a provision the Corporation Commission may consider in evaluating requests from electric generation facilities seeking authorization of capital expenditures. It also removes reference to tribal agencies as it relates to the executive director of the Department of Environmental Quality coordinating with other agencies responsible for conducting separate permitting and environmental reviews of a refining facility.
The Senate will reconvene Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. For the full story go to www.ecapitol.net
