Morgan to take job at state Chamber

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The senior policy adviser and legal counsel for state Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee is leaving the Senate to become president and CEO of The State Chamber. Chamber board chairman Phil Kennedy made the announcement Tuesday. He says the organization's executive committee selected Morgan by a unanimous vote on Monday.
Current chamber president and CEO Dick Rush announced in September he was retiring on March 31 after 23 years with the organization. Kennedy says Morgan will work closely with Rush and the chamber's staff in the transition. Morgan is a former state representative and House Republican leader who has worked as a consultant for Coffee, a Republican fromOklahoma City, since 2007 after an unsuccessful race for Congress in 2006.
