FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - The gun, badge and bullets of Deputy U.S. Marshall Bass Reeves have been donated to the U.S. Marshals Museum that's to be built in Fort Smith. Retired Judge Paul Brady of Atlanta donated the items Monday in Fort Smith. Reeves was the great-uncle of Brady. Reeves was one of the first blacks to be appointed a deputy marshal by Judge Isaac Parker. He served between 1875 and 1910 chasing wanted people in western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. He was inducted into the Great Westerners Hall of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City in 1992. The museum is to be built along the Arkansas River in Fort Smith.
