OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma's former chief medical examiner is suing the state to get his job back. Dr. Collie Trant filed a lawsuit in Oklahoma County District Court Tuesday that asks a judge to reinstate him. Trant was fired on Feb. 5 after less than nine months on the job. The state Board of Medicolegal Investigations, which administers the agency, met in executive session for about an hour before voting 5-0 to terminate Trant's employment. The 61-year-old Trant had been placed on paid leave Feb. 1 for unspecified reasons. The board did not say why Trant was terminated. Trant alleges in his 24-page lawsuit that he was fired in retaliation for reporting wrongdoing.
