Tulsa Police Officer Shoots, Kills Man After Chase
Published: 04/19/11 - 1:53pm Written by Dick PryorTULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Tulsa police officer is on paid leave after shooting a man who had led the officer on a chase following a traffic stop. Police say officer Adam Dawson shot 20-year-old Lakeith Roland when Roland pointed a handgun at the officer after getting out of his still moving car. The Tulsa World reports the chase began about 10:15 p.m. Sunday when Dawson attempted to stop the car driven by Roland. The chase ended about after about one mile when Roland got out of the car. Police say the weapon believed to be the one Roland pointed at Dawson was found at the scene.
