IMG_1708_BradHenryOKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Brad Henry says he's open to the idea of a legislative special session in January because of what he calls continued uncertainty in the state's fiscal forecasts.

Henry said in a statement Tuesday that ultimate budget decisions will depend on revenue estimates from next month's meeting of the state Board of Equalization. He says legislative budget committees should expedite public hearings on possible reductions.

Most state agencies took a 7 percent budget cut when the fiscal year began in July and since have taken an additional 5 percent in cuts because of declining state revenues. Henry says that after the new revenue estimate is issued and legislative hearings are held, he'll discuss the possibility of a January special session with legislative leaders.
