Oklahoma US Rep Cole named to House Budget Committee

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma U.S. Rep. Tom Cole has landed a seat on the House Budget Committee. The committee helps set yearly spending limits for the federal government. Cole also has been named to a second term on the House Appropriations Committee. Cole says it's a unique opportunity to serve on both the budget and appropriations panels and that he sees Congress' "most important and urgent task" as "getting government spending under control." Cole will join new Oklahoma U.S. Rep. James Lankford on theBudget Committee.
