OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma's longest-serving member in the U.S. House will administer the oath of office to the state's newest member of Congress. Rep.-elect James Lankford says he's honored that Rep. Frank Lucas will participate in the ceremonial swearing-in that is scheduled for Tuesday. The ceremony will be held in the House Agriculture Committee hearing room in the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, D.C.
Lucas will be the incoming chairman of the House Agriculture Committee and offered Lankford the use of the room for the event. The formal swearing-in for the 112th Congress will be Wednesday, but the seating for that ceremony in the House chambers in the Capitol building is limited to two persons per member.
