DavidBoren4OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A national survey of compensation packages for public university presidents shows University of Oklahoma President David Boren received more than the average for the 2008-09 school year. The Chronicle of Higher Education also shows the package for Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis is at the median of just above $436,000.

The survey says Boren's pay package of about $631,000 includes a salary of $380,585. He also receives more than $54,000 in deferred compensation and more than $196,000 in a supplemental retirement plan plus a vehicle from private sources and lives in a state-provided home. Hargis' $437,000 package includes a $350,000 salary, $27,000 in retirement pay and a $40,000 annuity. He also has a state-provided vehicle and home.
