OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma native has won his second Pulitzer Prize for his stories about the war in Iraq. Washington Post reporter Anthony Shadid was awarded the Pulitzer Prize Monday for international reporting. According to the Pulitzer judges, Shadid's series looked at Iraq as the United States prepares to depart and the Iraqis struggle to deal with the legacy of war and to shape their nation's future.
Shadid won a Pulitzer Prize in 2004 for his reporting on the Iraq war for the Washington Post. He grew up in Oklahoma City and attended the University of Oklahoma for a year before transferring to University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated.
