Flags6OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Thousands of Oklahomans are honoring America's veterans at ceremonies across the state. A World War II-era, anti-tank gun fired off a booming round Thursday to kick off a Veterans Day ceremony at the 45th Infantry Division Museum in Oklahoma City. About 200 people gathered as the governor's 145th Army Band played patriotic songs and more than a dozen honor guards marched the grounds.

Doug Baker of Oklahoma City brought his 8-year-old son, Caleb, to remind him "that freedom is not free." At the state Capitol, more than 300 black leather-clad motorcyclists helped lay a wreath at a veterans memorial park east of the Capitol. Several biker groups then rode with a police escort to another event in Del City.
